The primary mission of the Supply Planning SAP/APO/SNP Manager for Lennox Residential  is to continuously improve supply planning process execution, technology utilization and planning team member capability to ensure that targeted customer service rates, inventory levels and working capital goals are being met.  Please Note:Supply Network Planner (SNP) experience required.

The Supply Planning Manager leads a team responsible for the development of the short, medium and long–term supply plans for finished goods. The position provides the primary supply plan to the sales & operations planning process for the Residential Business Unit; calling out critical constraints and working with manufacturing plants and suppliers to reach an agreed plan. The Supply Planning Manager is ultimately responsible for the key metrics of network and facing fill rates, inventory turns and inventory working capital.


This role will collaborate with demand planning, product lifecycle management, manufacturing, distribution operations, and finance to ensure the accuracy of the production plan and inventory levels within the distribution network.  The manager is responsible for development and continuous improvement of policies and procedures to standardize cross-functional inputs to the supply plan.


The Manager – Supply Planning can be called upon to provide guidance on complex supply chain planning projects. This role can assist in defining systems solutions to achieve business goals, and serve as a catalyst for resolving business problems through integration of business processes with information systems. This individual will be a subject matter expert in the design and conversion from the current hybrid planning system to standard SAP APO/SNP and will participate in developing and approving business requirements, key figures, and planning profiles.


Job Description:
Manages a team of supply planners responsible for provide the highest service level and facing fill rate within the working capital constraints of the financial plan.

Develops proactive strategies to anticipate and mitigate issues and risks with respect to supply planning. Responsible for providing consultative guidance on the most complex aspects of developing inventory supply plans. Responsible for managing supply planning system and process improvements. Provides leadership to direct reports and team members. Responsible for inventory targets. Responsible for order quantities. Performs inventory segmentation. Manages inventory of new and phase-out parts. Validates and meets the monthly inventory days of supply and facilitates the reduction of excess inventory. Responsible for the key metrics of network and facing fill rates, inventory turns and inventory working capital. Assists in setting strategic direction for Supply Chain initiatives.

Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 8 years relevant experience. APICS certification a plus.

Expert understanding of the product life cycle and underlying business planning requirements. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Good organization skills. Strong attention to detail. Solid Customer Relations skills. Inventory analysis proficiency Expert analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills. Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Expert with SAP or other advanced planning system Technology. Broad expertise in Supply Chain Management, purchasing, inventory planning. Ability to recruit, interview, select, and develop professional team members.

Educational / Experience Requirements: 

·          Bachelor’s degree in related field (Materials, Operations Management, Business, or Industrial Engineering)

·          10+ years of experience in Supply Chain

·          5+ years of experience in Supply or Demand Management

·          Knowledge of SAP APO/SNC; GATP

·          Experience with SAP tables, BW, and queries

·          Experience with managing organizational change

Essential Duties:

·          Provide the input to the business plan for supply planning. Can include production plans for plants, working capital plans, capacity requirements, new geographical supply requirements, network inventory targets


·          Develop proactive strategies to anticipate and mitigate issues and risks with respect to supply planning.


·          Participate in and define the strategic direction of supply planning policies and processes to improve customer service, reduce operational costs, reduce cycle times, and optimize working capital


·          Develop new and innovative methods of analyzing data.  Use interpretation of data to influence and/or support organizational decision-making.


·          Fine tune supply planning processes for continuous improvement



·          Serve as one of the key communication links to team members


·          Consistently participate in and maintain a team environment by openly sharing

information, exchanging ideas, coordinating activities, coaching and mentoring, and/or

jointly solving problems


·          Act as an example for others by modeling effective cross-functional communication,

positive sponsorship, championing education initiatives


·          Maintain positive working relationships with other organizations within LII Residential;

enabling the ability to include cross-functional information into the development of the

supply plan


·          Demonstrate accountability for all work activities and initiate opportunities to take

actions to improve a situation without waiting for explicit instructions.


·          Provide coaching, process changes, and continuous improvement feedback to other

team members as applicable.


·          Oversee team member education on new processes or technologies.


·          Coordinate and provide the supply plan input to the S&OP planning process including

production, constraints, inventory, flex capacity and time fences.


·          Direct the production rate and capacity requirements for various manufacturing plants

/ suppliers as required to support the business plan. Includes developing a consensus

with manufacturing for supporting the production or pre-build plan requirements, and

reaching a consensus with distribution on pre-deploy activities and levels


·          Manage to targeted inventory levels for finished goods in an SAP environment and ensure that targeted customer service rates, inventory levels and working capital goals are being met.


·          Proactively communicate any service issues related to stock availability, and

coordinate resolution, involving all facets of supply planning appropriately


·          Develop measurement standards to track and monitor results with measurement

objectives and goals


·          Define / approve business and configuration requirements for SAP PP / MM / APO

modules and the operational processes needed to utilize SAP as the supply planning



·          Define / approve Standard Operating Procedures to stabilize processes and

establish ownership for future reference and training opportunities.
