Job Description:
Responsible for the complete and satisfactory installation of commercial HVAC equipment accessories on rooftops of commercial buildings. Oversees the work of Install Helpers to ensure work is performed correctly. Communicates with commercial customer to answer questions, resolve problems, and ensure complete customer satisfaction. Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or Branch Manager

Works under minimum supervision to install commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Directs the activities of the installation team members (Install Helpers and lower-level Installers). Installs commercial (rooftop) heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, as well as accessories, in accordance with company requirements and manufacture specifications. As needed, performs diagnostics, as needed. Works with crane operators and operators of other devices for loading commercial equipment to the rooftop location. Designs, fabricates, and installs various ducts and duct fittings as required. Performs start-ups on air conditioning systems. Responsible for delivery of excellent customer service and sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Effectively communicates with customer regarding questions, concerns, and problems. Promotes products and services to the customer. Calls Lead Coordinator with specifics on replacement product sales leads generated from commercial customer service visit. Responsible for delivery and removal of equipment needed to complete the installation work. Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are being properly used, maintained, and accounted for. Following standard procedures and process, ensures that the company vehicle is properly stocked, returns defective warranty parts to branch, and orders/replenishes vehicle stock as needed. Responsible for keeping installation vehicle clean and neat both inside and outside in keeping with the companys professional image. Completes all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough, and timely manner. Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and concerns. Performs similar/other duties as needed or assigned.

High school diploma or GED with additional training and 3 years experience in commercial HVAC installation. Must possess all valid licensing or certification as required by federal, state, provincial, or local governmental laws or regulations for the geographical work area. Knowledge of the operational functionality of commercial heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment as well as related accessories. Proficient knowledge and skills in the installing commercial heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, as well as related accessories, successfully and without supervision. Knowledge of the layout and installation requirements of commercial duct work and duct fittings.

Proficient mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment. Proficient and able to operate all necessary tools and equipment to perform various service projects. Proficient skills in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting problems with electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems on commercial HVAC equipment. Effective communication skills to communicate with customer and resolve customer issues, complaints, or concerns. Effective and efficient time-management and organizational skills. Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record. Ability to stand and walk and to climb ladders and attic stairs and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units. Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requirements

At least 5 years' of previous HVAC Installation experience required (Commercial experience preferred)

Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for delivery and removal of equipment needed to complete the installation work.
• Responsible for the delivery of up-selling initiatives while completing the installation of company equipment in the home.
• Responsible for calling customers to arrange for a pre-measuring when necessary.
• Responsible for keeping installation vehicle clean and neat both inside and out in keeping with the companies professional image.
• Responsible for delivery of excellent customer service and sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Ensure company property, vehicles and tools are being used, maintained and accounted for properly and timely. 
• Share expertise with fellow coworkers for mutual benefit and growth.
• Follow instructions and directions of the Lead Installer and/or Service Manager in a timely and accurate manner.    
• Represent our company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and concerns.
• Abide by all company procedures, policies and systems.
• Install heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, as well as accessories, in an accurate and timely manner.  
• Complete all HVAC, water heater, and all other equipment installations.
• Perform all installations and other assignments as instructed to do son in a courteous manner.
• Handle customer concerns, questions or problems in an effective manner.
• Perform start-ups on air conditioning.
• Assist the Lead Installer in preparing material requisition forms to ensure proper truck stock levels.    
• Perform job material source and accurately record all materials received and/or returned.
• Act as a materials runner when so instructed by the Lead Installer.    
• Perform limited diagnostic work.
• Designs, manufacture, and install various ducts and duct fittings as instructed.   
• Complete all paperwork in a neat, accurate, complete, and timely manner. 
• Generate sales leads in accordance to (at least) our established minimum standards. 
Qualifications 
• Good mechanical aptitude.  Able to operate all necessary tools and equipment to perform various installations projects.
• Adept at installing residential and light commercial heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, as well as related accessories, successfully and without supervision. 
• Must have the ability to design, layout, and manufacture ductwork and duct fittings used in a residential and commercial setting.   
• Able to calculate heat gain and loss on all residential and light commercial buildings using approved methods.
• Must be able to estimate any installation job that may be required (repair or replacement).
• Able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and production diagrams.
• Must understand time management and manage time effectively, efficiently and successfully.
• Must possess superior communication and diplomacy skills necessary to resolve a customer complaint or concern.
• Must have a good understanding and overall knowledge of the HVAC/Refrigeration Industry.
• Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of customer-focused service.
• Ability to work unsupervised; results oriented achieving high levels of individual and team performance.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and leadership skills.   
• Excellent written, verbal and organization skills. 
• Must have a minimum Grade 12 high school education, although a college or trade school diploma is preferred.
• Preferred licenses in plumbing, electrical work, sheet metal, refrigeration, CFC permit (ozone depletion card).
• Minimum two years experience in the installation field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of all company policies as well as related procedures and systems.
