The primary mission of the Inventory Optimization Manager ,Supply Chain Logistics, is to provide the highest service level and facing fill rate within the working capital constraints of the financial plan. Position is @ the Lennox Corporate Offices, Richardson, TX.

The Inventory Optimization Manager leads our inventory management policies and processes, and guides the organization in developing the stocking assortment, stock / non-stock assignment, material segmentation, variability buffers, item inventory policies and target inventories for parts, supplies, and finished goods.

Job Description:
Under general direction, has responsibility for market level forecasting of targets and fill rate achievement. Often makes unusually complex or high risk inventory planning decisions.

Responsible for developing the consensus forecast for finished goods and parts using the baseline statistical forecast, new business, promotions, external market factors, and new product introductions. Determines the best metrics to use to provide the most accurate representation of the forecast. Develops new and innovative methods of analyzing data and determines which methods to apply. Works with sales and marketing to coordinate strategic inventory segmentation, stock/non-stock classification, acceptable lead time expectations and optimal inventory levels. Develops proactive strategies to anticipate and mitigate issues and risks with respect to forecasting. Fine tunes forecast model parameters and relevant hierarchies. Provides direction and training to team members on a broad range of issues. Manages all aspects of leading and developing team members.

Requires a bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Logistics or equivalent and at least 8 years relevant experience.

Requires an exceptional understanding of complex statistical methodologies. Requires an extensive understanding of best practices in evaluating market demand and setting inventory goals. Familiar with the impact of sales initiatives on the variability of volume. Requires expert knowledge of Supply Chain Management. Requires expertise in forecasting and configuring demand planning systems. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Expert with SAP or another advanced planning system. Must be able to lead the work of others.

This role will be responsible for coordinating and communicating the trade-off between working capital investment and customer service levels utilizing statistical inventory optimization techniques and qualitative analysis. This role will be responsible for managing the seasonal transitions, in addition to the inventory assortment and levels at all tiers of the distribution network including RDC’s, LDC’s, and stores.
