|Responsible for the architecture and design of the enterprise voice and data network, the technology roadmap and should be an esteemed expert in a variety of converged network solutions.
Engineer, develop, and implement data and voice network solutions for the enterprise. Technical leader for enterprise architecture planning and integration. Analyzes service portfolio, network usage and network performance to optimize services and track adherence to SLAs. Makes decisions regarding technology selections for proactive, corrective and analytical diagnostic tools that are used locally, regionally and globally as a corporate standard. Implements WAN optimization solutions across LII global network stays educated on emerging technologies in this area. Implements and address single points of failure within LAN/WAN infrastructure. Identify areas of network inefficiency and make recommendations for improvement. Install, support and configure Cisco routers and switches and telephony infrastructure in a Production environment. Establish VoIP strategy that leverages existing voice infrastructure. Evaluate new network technology. Assist with the planning and design of future network architecture. Develop and maintain documentation related to network architecture, processes and support.
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 12 years progressively responsible network/voice administration and engineering experience including at least 8 years involving network engineering experience.
Requires expert knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks, and applications. Experienced with a wide range of software and hardware diagnostic tools. Extensive knowledge of network components, relationships and configuration. Must be able to design and implement the most complex networks. Knows and understands information technology industry trends and emerging technologies and shows an ability to relate them to the company and its objectives. Solid analytical, interpersonal and communication skills required. Must be expert at leading team projects.
The Sr. Network Architect responsible for the architecture and design of the global data network. The Sr. Network Architect also performs deployment and implementation activities for our business customers by developing plans and system designs to support business needs. The candidate will be the senior leader of network design and architecture for the enterprise and is expected to be very knowledgeable in MPLS, BGP, VoIP technologies as well as Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless topology and network performance monitoring and analysis and wiring strategies. This position is responsible for the design and support of the local and wide area network and is an integral contributor to the overall network strategy for LII. The candidate will be expected to advise the team on networking hardware selections and standards including network architecture and optimization methodologies and strategies.

o This individual must have a working knowledge of Networking Principles including (but not limited to) routing (BGP/OSPF), WAN (MPLS/DS1-3/OC3), LAN (Catalyst Switches/VLANs/SpanningTree), Firewall (Cisco/Checkpoint), SSL VPN (Juniper) and load balancing (CSS), wireless configurations (Aruba), general data security principles & best practice disaster recovery experience.
o Solid background with Cisco routers, switches, layered DWDM and MPLS with global experience to understand tariffs and other international issues.
o Expert knowledge of a
variety of network management tools, test equipment, circuits and
extensive knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack, firewall security and
intrusion protection devices in an inter-networking environment.
· Former Network (MPLS) Sr. Network Engineer and/or Architect role preferred.
· Industry certifications required – CCNA, CCIE or other related certification
Some travel (< 25%) is required for this position including some weekend travel during technology upgrades.
